Maintenance method

  1. When using an enamel cast iron dutch oven / casserole on a gas stove, do not let the flame go beyond the bottom of the pot. Because the cast iron material of the pot body has strong heat storage performance, it can achieve ideal cooking effect without high fire during cooking. Cooking with fierce fire not only wastes energy, but also causes excessive oil smoke, and also damages the enamel porcelain on the outer wall of the pot.
  2. When cooking, first heat the bottom of the enameled cast iron dutch oven / casserolewith medium heat, and then put in the food. Since the cast iron material conducts heat evenly, when the bottom of the pot is hot, turn down the fire and cook with medium and low heat.
  3. Do not burn cast iron pots empty for a long time, and do not rinse the hot pot just after use with cold water, so as not to cause rapid temperature changes, cause the enamel layer to fall off, and affect the service life of the pot.
  4. After the enamel pot is naturally cooled, it is better to clean it when the pot body is slightly warm, which is easier to clean; if you encounter stubborn stains, you can soak it first, and then use soft tools such as bamboo brush, loofah, sponge, etc. cleaning. Do not use hard and sharp utensils such as stainless steel spatulas and wire brushes, so as not to damage the enamel layer.
  5. If you accidentally burn the pot, don’t rush to clean it, you can soak it in warm water overnight, then scrub with a soft rag with water; or you can soak it in hot water for 2 hours, pour out the water, and find a soft cloth dipped in a small Baking soda, rub hard.
  6. After cleaning the enamel pot, use a dry rag to dry the water inside and outside the pot instead of drying it. If not going to be used for a while, apply oil after drying. Usually, after washing the pot, use a clip to pad the lid of the pot, which is conducive to air circulation.
